About FantasyDope.com
FantasyDope.com was created in 2006 to fill an obvious gap in the Fantasy Sports world - getting good in depth information for your fantasy team so that you can WIN YOUR LEAGUE.
The Problem: Fantasy News Sources Are Usually Awful
We've been playing fantasy sports for over 10 years. We created FantasyDope.com because we were frustrated with the news that was provided by pay services and league management services.
Their News is Largely Useless.
Their news is often bite sized chunks of information that doesn't give you enough information to make an intelligent decision for your fantasy team.
No Competitive Advantage.
When you're getting your news from your league management system, you're getting the same news that everyone else in your league is getting. Hard to get a leg up on the competition from league news.
One or Two Editors Decide What News is Important.
What is important to one or two web editors may not be what is important to you and your team.
Stale News.
Since these websites often have very few news editors, sometimes the news is outdated or stale. Everyone has run into the situation when one of their players is injured and yet news about the injury doesn't appear for days in the news for their fantasy league.
The Answer: FantasyDope.com
FantasyDope.com provides the best Fantasy News on the Internet. Here is how:
Users Vote.
The registered users at FantasyDope.com vote on what stories are important. We aren't limited to one or to web editors, our registered users - the ones who actually play fantasy sports - are the ones that decide what news stories are important, and which ones aren't.
Users Submit.
Users submit stories from sources such as local newspapers and blogs. Other users can click on these links to be taken directly to the story to get the whole scoop. By having our users submit stories, we catch a lot more important sports stories than one or two editors at a league management service.
Links to Stories.
Instead of providing bite sized information to try to comprehend, FantasyDope.com links to the underlying story for a news item. This gives the reader the full picture of what is going on, rather than just a small piece of information.
Blogs. Blogs. Blogs.
By their own admission, some newspaper beat writers can't fit in the juicy information that fantasy players need into a news article. That's why many beat writers have their own online blogs. We link directly these beat writer blogs along with blogs from fans to provide even more depth than the typical daily newspaper can provide.
